This face begins in February 2026. While registration for the health insurance will continue, the project this time is targeting surgeries for at least 200 people in Cross River North.
The surgeries will be restricted to Cataract, Inguinal Hernia, Femoral Hernia, Uterine Prolapse, Lipoma, Appendicitis, VesicoVeginal Fistula VVF.
There is ongoing recruitment of medical personnel on adhoc basis, who will serve as coordinators for the five LGAs in Northern Cross River. The LG Coordinators will be six with two in Yala LGA to cover the two constituencies in Yala. We are strictly recruiting retired Community Health Officers CHOs, for this task, not politicians, to ensure efficiency.
We are also recruiting 54 Community Health Extension Workers CHEWs, who will go to the 54 Wards in the five LGAs to administer a questionnaire to those in need of this intervention and the data will be collated by the LGA coordinators and compiled.
30 General Surgeons and Physicians, who have been engaged will also arrive Cross River North in February 2026, and spend one month, in five designated health facilities (one in each LGA), to operate on at least 200 persons.
