Alleged N33.8bn Fraud: Mamman’s Trial Stalled As Defence Fails To Produce Witness

The trial of former Minister of Power, Saleh Mamman, before Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja, was stalled on Monday, February 23, 2026, after the defence failed to produce a key witness.

During proceedings, Femi Atteh, SAN, counsel for Mamman, informed the court that the witness could not be subpoenaed because they were unavailable in the office.

Atteh requested additional time to secure the witness’s presence.

Justice Omotosho subsequently adjourned the case until February 26, 2026, for Mamman to open his defence.

Mamman is facing prosecution by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on a 12-count charge, including conspiracy to commit money laundering involving N33.8 billion.
