Abuja Court Adjourns APC-Related Suit Involving Hon. Stella Odey And Hon. Blessing Egbara to July 7

A case involving two individuals, Stella Odey and Blessing Egbara, alongside the Circle of Life Foundation, has been adjourned by Nigeria’s Federal High Court in Abuja until 7 July for hearing.

The suit, listed before the court as FHC/ABJ/CS/971/26, was among matters scheduled for mention at the Abuja Judicial Division of the Federal High Court.

The plaintiffs are challenging the All Progressives Congress (APC) and several other defendants in a legal dispute that is expected to be examined in greater detail when the case comes up for substantive hearing.

During proceedings, the court did not delve into the merits of the claims but fixed 7 July as the next date for hearing, allowing both parties additional time to complete procedural requirements and prepare their arguments.

Although details of the claims have yet to be fully argued in open court, legal observers say the case could attract wider public interest because of its connection to political and civic matters.

The involvement of the Circle of Life Foundation, a non-governmental organisation, alongside the individual claimants has also drawn attention from civil society groups monitoring developments in the case.

Court records show that the matter remains at an early stage, and no ruling has been made regarding the substantive issues raised by either side.

Under Nigerian law, all parties are entitled to a fair hearing, and the court is expected to consider arguments from both the plaintiffs and the defendants before reaching any determination.

The case is scheduled to return before the Federal High Court in Abuja on 7 July, when proceedings are expected to move beyond preliminary appearances and into substantive consideration of the issues before the court.
